Frequently asked questions

Henna Sessions

Is Henna safe?

Yes! Our 100% all natural, organic Henna paste is completely safe for the use of dying hair, skin and fabric. The only ingredients we use are: organic Henna powder, water, sugar, (sometimes lemon juice), and essential oils. That's it!

What is Henna?

Henna, or more traditionally known as Mehndi, is the term used to describe not only the art form, but the dye that is released from the lawsonia inermis plant that can be applied to hair, skin or fabric. Our 100% all natural, organic paste is completely safe and produces a beautiful orange to deep brown burgundy stain that can last for 1-2 weeks depending on it’s care.

Do you have Black Henna?

Never!
Black henna is a term used for organic Henna that has been mixed with a chemical called para-phenylenediaime or PPD which causes severe chemical burns in most people.
The ONLY 4 ingredients found in our paste include: Organic Henna Powder, Water, Sugar and Essential Oils– that’s it!

Do you have White Henna?

White henna is actually not Henna at all, but rather a white body paint mixed with body safe adhesive that does not leave behind any stain. This body paint is FDA approved and 100% safe to use on skin. It can last a day or two (depending on how careful you are).

**White henna is available by special request.

Do you apply special requests?

Depending on the type of event and number of people in line, we are capable of taking special requests, but in order to keep long lines moving, our artist typically ops for quicker designs that still create an impressive impact.

When is your start time?

We will arrive on site approximately 10 minutes early for set-up and be ready to paint by the designated start time.

Do I need to provide anything?

For Henna, we only ask for a small table and well lit minimum 6'x6' space to allow for accurate application. Our artist provides 2 stools for proper height.

Can Henna cause allergic reactions?

No, natural Real Henna powder is safe for all people with sensitive skin or allergies and does not cause allergic reactions.
Acidic lemon juice that is sometimes used in real Henna paste can cause dryness which is why we opted out and ONLY use water instead.

Does applying Henna hurt?

Never!
Unlike a real tattoo, Henna paste does not pierce your skin. It is simply a temporary dye that sits on the surface of the skin. It only stains the dead layers of skin cells and it lasts about 2 weeks.
